We’ll be a good fit to work together if:

  • You believe less is more. You value quality over quantity. Simple is not a bad word.
  • You understand that artists have an important role to play in our societies.
  • You know and understand your audience and customers.
  • You plan your projects in advance for the year (while also leaving room for serendipitous shifts).
  • You’re not a fan of “filler” or “empty” content. Copy must be useful and provide value.
  • You believe in the power of storytelling.
  • You have high standards that can be clearly communicated and are achievable.
  • You love what you do, and you also care about building an interesting life outside of work.
  • You believe in people over profits, and in leaving things better than you found them, whether it’s the environment, a customer or an employee.
  • You’re enamored with creating something you can be proud of (even when it feels risky).
  • You put your money where your mouth is by purchasing from local, independent businesses over big box, chain stores (and also making or reusing items).
  • You choose profound, organic growth over short-term hacks and fixes.
  • You understand that an investment in service professionals is an important part of growing your business.

Dream Clients

Though I may be biased, I believe I work with some of the greatest clients around. Here are some additional companies I’d love to write for.

California Avocados

Is it normal to be obsessed with a fruit? I would happily eat avocados in every meal—and some days I have. California avocados are the best of the best.

Linus Bikes

Made in Venice, California (with their heart in 1950s France), the owners’ goal is to transform the way we make short neighborhood errands by biking instead of driving. The bikes are beautiful to look at and a delight to ride. I have the almond Roadster and call it my “joy machine.”

Municipal Winemakers

These folks produce wines exactly how I like ’em—Rhone blends that are consistent across varieties and not overly complicated. Based in Santa Barbara, California, the friendly staff operate a laid-back tasting room not far from the ocean. (That’s where my favorite wine glass, which is incidentally a mug, is from.)

Peacock Pavilions

A dreamy boutique hotel in Marrakech, Morocco, with olive trees (and peacocks!) on its grounds. Designer and humanitarian aid worker Maryam, who has exquisite taste and an eye for detail, is responsible for the interior design. This is a feast for the eyes and spirit.

Tatine Candles

Woman-owned and made in the U.S., these candles emit uniquely delicious scents. In addition to the elegant, minimalist package design, each candle is an experiential pleasure, transforming your environment into an otherworldly zone of harmony.

Are you on this list or do you know people who are? Let’s talk.
